NC Wedding Violin

        I was called to play music as a young child. I was four when I started learning the violin, and it has always moved me deeply. My biggest inspiration is the beauty of music in all its forms. For me weddings are a wonderful avenue to bring joy to people’s hearts through music.

         After studying with Dr Richard Luby (UNC-CH) I went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. After spending my senior year of high school there, I went to Berklee College of Music to study contemporary violin and electronic music. Since then I’ve played for weddings, church services and art-rock shows. I regularly busk in downtown Cary. 

         When I am learning songs and pieces I listen to them as often as I can. Currently I have the complete G. F. Handel sonatas on rotation. I also listen to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music. Since I’m studying Jazz, I’ve been listening to Blues, John Coltrane, and I love Benny Golson’s rendition of “Yesterdays’. 

         I’ve been all around North Carolina. I love the mountains, the beach, and the Piedmont. NC cities I’ve visited include Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Winston Salem, Pittsboro, Asheville, Boone, and Charlotte. The Uwharrie National Forest is stunning. I’ve travelled to Maryland several times to attend and perform at MAGFest Music and Gaming Festival. I’ve been to California to do studio session recording, and to Berlin when I was at Berklee. I still remember getting doner kebabs there with my best friends. 

         I love composing dark introspective ambient electronic music and I hope this becomes more than a hobby one day. Aside from that, I love reading. I’m reading the Dune series by Frank Herbert. I have several plants I take care of, mainly herbs I use in my cooking. Cooking and baking are big hobbies for me. I enjoy learning Spanish and improving my typing too.
